Actriz británica. En 1874 se casó con Edward Langtry, un hombre de destacada posición social, y más tarde llegó a ser conocida como "Jersey Lily. Famosa por su belleza, causó sensación al ser la primera mujer de sociedad que se dedicó al teatro. Protagonizó Humillarse para vencer (1881), y actuó frente a públicos entusiastas en Inglaterra y EE.UU., especialmente en la obra A vuestro gusto. Entre sus romances se cuenta el que sostuvo con el príncipe de Gales (más tarde, rey Eduardo VII). Después del fallecimiento de su marido, se casó con Hugo de Bathe (1899). Posteriormente dirigió y remodeló el Imperial Theatre de Londres (1901–17).
